Sitting on the hills overlooking the Costa del Sol, El Soto is a 9 hole (par 3) course suitable for all level of players who want to experience the real pleasure of playing golf in southern Spain. It is best for those who want to master the ‘short game’.

Designed by Manuel Pinero, all the nine holes have something to look forward to, although it’s all enjoyable but some holes demands much precision, even experienced players needs to be very much careful while making their shots in the presence of lakes, ravines and bunker.

The 1^st hole is slightly downhill with water hazard to the left of the green and asks for a better shot with accuracy and not distance. With 80 meters length, this is the second longest after the final one which is of 85m.

Approaching the 2^nd and 3^rd hole, you will find large bunker to the right of the green while the water hazard directly in front of the tee stretching some 50 metres requires a long shot to clear the 3^rd one.

As far as difficult level is concerned, your skills will have to come to play in the 6^th that is placed slightly elevated with a hidden bunker and to over pass a very steep faced bunker for the 7^th (the shortest hole at 45 m length).

The final one, known as El Soto’s signature hole, is at the longest distance of 85m. With water from tee to green, so anything short will make a big splash and hence needs a shot that is slightly long.

Designed by golf architect Enrique Canales, this is a 9-hole Par 36 golf course which opened its door for the first time in 1991. It now offers 24 hours golfing all year round with an excellent opportunity to those who want to play under floodlit.

Although there are many more golf courses in Marbella, Costa del Sol, this one is popular for its lighting arrangements. It is designed in such a way that no shadows are cast and you can play your shots freely and locate your ball with excellent visibility.

However, for night-time play, you must book your place in advance as it only accommodates a maximum of 15 players. Golfing enthusiasts find this one pretty much interesting as the course has no such roughs and this allows continuity in the game.
