The second edition of Marbella Food and Sun Festival will be hosted by the Gran Melia Don Pepe hotel in Marbella from August 22 to August 24. Following the success of last year, the festival is eying to establish itself as an important date in the Marbella’s event calendar.

Promoted by the Marbella Town Hall in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism of the Junta of Andalusia, Turismo Andaluz, and the Association of Entrepreneurs and Professionals of Marbella, among others, this gastronomic event aims to promote Marbella as an international culinary destination.

Culinary tradition in Marbella Food and Sun Festival

With a great culinary tradition in Andalusia, Southern Spain, Marbella Food and Sun Festival will feature some of the well-known culinary artists with the likes of Dani Garcia, Jose Andres and Andrea Tumbarello.

In addition, the event will attract as many as 400 professionals including chefs, sommeliers, waiters and winemakers to showcase their creativity while raising awareness of the variety and quality of the cuisine of the city.

Marbella Food and Sun Festival will not only present some of the finest local cuisines to give a new impetus to the culinary culture of the area but also seeing it as a tool for the overall promotion of Marbella in the world tourism market.

The festival will kick off on Sunday August 22 with “Live Cooking” at the Hotel Don Pepe. The activity will bring together some of the best chefs of Spain Jose Andres, Andrea Tumbarello and Dani Garcia, who will instruct participants to prepare dinner.

On Monday August 23, the activity “Wine & Green” brings golf and dining at the Aloha Golf Club. It will offer all attendees of Marbella Food and Sun Festival a chance to participate in this gastro-sport event and after the competition a taste of selection of sparkling wine and cocktail offered by three award winning restaurants: Calima, Restaurante El Lago and Restaurante Skina.

Finally, on Tuesday August 24 (From 22:00 h), the exposition of Marbella Food and Sun Festival will come to its conclusion with the Contest of Espetos. This will take place at the La Venus beach Marbella, in which six espeteros will compete for the prize.

Polo House has recently been the setting for two wonderful fashion shows, the first was presented on June 5^th by Louise Doheny during a Saturday lunch with a selection of clothes from her Puerto Banus Boutique, Starlet and was a great success.

The second show was presented by international fashion designer Barbara Weber on June 10th with an amazing collection of cocktail and evening couture during our Polo House Cocktails Hours.

The Polo House Cocktail Hours continue to run between 6pm and 8pm, Mondays to Saturdays, and are proving to be very popular with Marbella’s residents, with Veuve Clicquot at just €60.00 Euros per bottle (plus IVA).

As of June 21st the Club will be closing at lunchtime during the week, but remaining open for the unmissable Sunday lunch, which is served to the delightful accompaniment of Michael Dickinson on piano.  Dinner service commences at 7pm until 12.30am Sundays to Wednesdays and until 1am Thursdays to Saturdays.
