Killer Whale Sailing Expedition

orca5The killer whale (Orcinus orca), commonly referred to as the orca, is a toothed whale belonging to the oceanic dolphin family. Killer whales are found in all oceans, from the frigid Arctic and Antarctic regions to tropical seas.

Killer whales as a species have a diverse diet, although individual populations often specialize in particular types of prey. Some feed exclusively on fish, while others hunt marine mammals such as sea lions, seals, walruses and even large whales.

Killer whales are regarded as apex predators, lacking natural predators and preying on even large sharks. In the summer period, these Orcas can been seen close to the Strait of Gibraltar, where they chase the red tuna fish who migrates from the Atlantic ocean to the Mediterranean sea from May to September.

We propose you this private group activity on a Sailing boat, with capacity for 10 guests, during which our photographer will capture these incredible moments and provide your group with a DVD of all the shots he has taken for you.

The probability to see dolphins and whales is of 95%, and the one to see Orcas chasing red tuna is also very high, but this remains an incredible natural phenomenon than cannot be guaranteed 100% !
