The Golden Goose, Marbella’s latest “in” venue recently opened on the Golden Mile, will be the only place to go on Sundays, commencing Sunday the 1st May from 1pm to 3pm.
To complement the chic and sophisticated ambience at The Golden Goose, guests will be treated to a fantastic live performance of Jazz Music by the 17-piece Marbella Big Band.
The band will be performing songs from the early swing days through to modern classics so there will be something to please everyone.
Marbella Big Band is made up of professional musicians from many countries and, over the past seven years, has become the live band of choice for any top-end event along the Costa and all over Spain.
What is Big Band?
The big band is a particular style of music associated with jazz which became popular during the Swing Era from the early 1930s until the late 1950s. Big bands evolved with the times and still do so today.
A big band typically consists of approximately 12 to 25 musicians (never less than 10) and contains saxophones, trumpets, trombones, vibraphone, vocalists and a rhythm section.
Jazz band, jazz ensemble, stage band, jazz orchestra, society band, dance band and so forth, are terms used to describe a specific type of big band.
Unlike smaller jazz combos, in which most of the music is improvised, or created spontaneously, music played by big bands is highly “arranged”, or prepared in advance and notated on sheet music.
Please be advised, due to possible bad weather, the show will be postponed until the following Sunday (May 8) Reservations are advised. For more information, please contact The Golden Goose on: +34 952 764 648 or Claire King on: +34 639 627 912.
