Royal Golf Federation of Andalusia

The Royal Golf Federation of Andalusia (Real Federación Andaluza de Golf) is a non-profit making organisation representing golf in this region. It is more a regulatory body which controls activities of golf clubs and courses located in the southern Spain region. Most of professional golf courses are now members of the body.

Founded in 1979, it merged with the Real Federación Española de Golf (Spanish Golf Federation) in 1985, which made this a legal entity. It was in May 2006 that awarded the present name by His Majesty the King of Spain.

As the supervisory body, its administrative structure consists of a Governing Body – elected in every four years. And the governing body consists of representatives from clubs, sports association, or himself/herself a sportsperson, a coach, referee or an umpire.

The board then elects the President of the Federation who later appoints the Board of Directors, Accounts Auditor and members of the Sports Discipline Committee. The Golf Federation is only answerable to the Sports Association Register of the Regional Government of Andalusia.
