A Few Facts about St Patrick´s Day:
The actual color of St. Patrick is blue. Green became associated with St. Patrick’s Day during the 19th century. In Irish legends, green was worn by fairies and immortals, and also by people to encourage their crops to grow.
Many people wear green on this holiday to avoid being pinched.
It is thought to be lucky to find a four leaf clover on St. Patrick’s Day.
The Scottish should get some recognition on St Patrick´s Day as some say St. Patrick was Scottish and was said to be either born in Scotland or Wales. Even more amazing is that his name wasn’t even Patrick! His birth name is actually Maewyn Succat. At the age of 16, after he was kidnapped and sold into Irish slavery, he later went on to become a priest under bishop of Auxerre and took on the name Patricius, better known as Patrick.
