The Sacred Art of Tibet – Organized by NADFAS de la Frontera (the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies), Zara Fleming will be exploring in depth, the wealth of this sacred artistic tradition.
With expert knowledge of Buddhist art, Zara Fleming will be exploring the mesmerizing and intriguing art and culture of Tibet and describing how they are used as visual aids for meditation, in order to guide the practitioner on his or her path towards enlightment.
The lecture will be taking place at the San Roque Golf and Country Club on Wednesday the 19th January at 11am and entrance is free to members and 12 euros to non-members.
Zara Fleming:
Zara Fleming is an art historian and independent art consultant and lecturer specialising in Tibetan and Himalayan art and has travelled throughout Tibet and its border regions. She is also co-curator of a major new exhibition at Asia House on The Tiger in Asian Art.
She first travelled to Bhutan in 1976 and has since, for many years, led tours to the Himalayan region including to Tibet, Buthan, Ladakh, Zanskar, Spiti and Nepal.
First starting out at the V & A Museum, she has also worked with the Orient Foundation, the Royal Academy and many other Museums, universities and institutions.
Zara Fleming is also the Vice-President of the Tibet Society and Tibet Relief Fund of the UK.
