Ferrari sales up in Marbella

Contrary to the general belief regarding the impact of worldwide economic crisis on the Costa del Sol, and particularly the property and tourism market, the resort town Marbella refutes it by recording rising Ferrari car sales.

Although Marbella has always been a place for some of world’s wealthiest people, including celebrities and business tycoons, it’s the increasing number of Ferrari owners which proves the other side of economic gloom.

C. de Salamanca, the official Ferrari dealer in Marbella, has reported the sale of 18 new Ferraris in Marbella since January, accounting 30 percent of the total Ferrari sales throughout Spain between January and August this year.

However, it’s not Marbella alone where the most moneyed individuals live; in actual fact, the capital city Madrid remains on the top followed by Barcelona as the main buying location.

The Italian sports car brand Ferrari carries a price tag of some €400,000 and hence only 20 cars a year are allocated to the Salamanca dealership in Marbella.

Jose Carlos de Salamanca, Managing Director of C. de Salamanca, highlighted the popularity of Ferrari in the region, “Ferrari is the only make that has customers who as they buy look ahead to the next new model and place a booking.”

C. de Salamanca is a major national company distributing and selling the best brands car including Ferrari, Jaguar, Maserati, Bentley, Aston Martin, Land Rover and Harley Davidson.
