Last Saturday, March 5th, saw the first of what we hope will be many of the 50’s Rock & Roll Club dance events to be held in La Flor de los Naranjos, Marbella.
With a varied attendance of people from Málaga, Ronda and Algeciras the event began punctually at the hour advertised enjoying a class in the most important dance steps led by teacher Daniela Terraneo. Resident Disc Jockey Tall Mike followed on before Maktub Hula Show put on their stunning performance of traditional Hawaiian Dance.
Fabulous DJ Paula from Cadiz got up on stage for her session leading into the early hours of the morning, with the very best in wild Rock ‘n Roll, Rockabilly and Rhythm & Blues from the 50’s and 60’s, and had even the most timid up and dancing.
Also featured at the event were authentic short films about 50’s motorbikes, cars, burlesque and Rock & Roll selected by Fusees Kustom Styles projected on to the giant screen in the main room at La Flor.
DJ Tall Mike returned to close the party, ending at 3am, and will be back on Saturday 2nd April with the next edition!
Rock & Roll is here to stay!
