Located in the Guadalmina urbanisation of Costa del Sol resort town Marbella, the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina boasts two 18 holes golf courses and a par 3 nine holes course with a wide driving range to accompany as many as 40 players.
Established in 1959, Guadalmina Golf Club has hosted some of the prestigious tournaments, including the European PGA in 1995 and 1996, and the Spanish PGA championship in 1998. With beautiful surrounding and amazing services, this is one of the most ideal golf courses in southern Spain.
Guadalmina Sur Golf Course in the south is considered as the second oldest golf course of Costa del Sol. It was the year 1965 that the course for the first time hosted the Spanish Championship. Designed by Javier Arana, the difficulty level of this 18 holes course makes it an interesting and challenging one for experienced golfers.
Then in 1973, the Golf Guadalmina came up with the second course to the north of the Club which is considered less difficult than the previous one. However, designer Folco Nardi has carefully placed few bunkers and long green fairways and water obstacles to make it interesting for both amateurs and professionals.
To score well in any of these two courses, one certainly needs to come with lot more precision and planning for each shot. The North Golf Course requires straight drives down the middle of the fairways to avoid those numerous water hazards. The 11th hole that requires a drive over a small lake and the par 4 17th gives you a real pleasure of playing golf in Marbella.
In addition to its high quality driving range and practice areas with chipping and putting green, Guadalmina Golf Club also offers numerous facilities and services that include restaurant, proshop club storage, buggy and equipment rental, sauna, cafeteria, swimming pool, tennis and paddle tennis courts, among others.
