Saturday the 27th at The Wave in the Cristomar Centre from 7pm, Kurt Kettner-Borough celebrates the release of his new CD Light From A Dark Place.
Light from a Dark Place:
A fresh sound can be heard on the coast with the haunting melodies found on Kettner-Borough´s long awaited classical guitar CD, Light from a Dark Place. An easy to listen compilation of some of his favorite compositions and arrangements from Brazil, Argentina, Spain and even two Beatles arrangements by a Japanese composer, Kurt hopes that as you listen to them, they will inspire your soul and touch your heart.
Light from a Dark Place is dedicated to Kurt`s 15 year old son, Kyle who has spent the close to the last three years in and out of hospital in a brave fight with leukaemia. The sounds that you will hear on this CD were infused with life over this dark period in the corridors, rooms and even the isolation room of the Malaga children´s Hospital – the melodies broke the sad silence.
Kurt and his wife Melanie with their two children, moved to Marbella three years ago. Kurt is the pastor of The Wave, Puerto Banus Christian Church. He was born in San Fransisco, California and started playing the classical guitar at the age of 16 after hearing his father´s John Williams album. Having studied with the best in USA, Kurt travelled to Spain for creative inspiration and bought a hand crafted Spanish guitar which he still uses almost 30 years later.
The CD launch of Light from a Dark Place will take place at 7pm at ´The Wave´ Puerto Banus at the Cristomar Centre. Kurt will be performing in a relaxed environment – tapas and wine will be served free of charge. He will also be available to sign copies of the CD. No reservations are needed.
