Selwo Adventure Park in Estepona

SelwoOn your tour to Costa del Sol, the Selwo Wildlife and Adventure Park – located in the hills of Estepona – is a an interesting family attraction just off the main coast road.

In a recreated natural habitat, Selwo is a combination of Nature Park, safari and adventure point with rich flora, fauna and leisure activities to make this an interesting day out or excursion point from Marbella or any part of Costa del Sol.

Interestingly, Selwo Adventure Park (Selwo Aventura) is home to over 2,000 species of birds and animals brought from all over the world. If you are lucky enough, a long guided walk inside the park or a jeep safari will give you the opportunity to spot some species of its rich wildlife.

From reptiles like anaconda, iguana, Nile crocodile, Indian python, Savannah Monitor to mammals such as American Bison, Indian Buffalo, European Bison, Asian Elephant, Leopard, Gibbon, Egyptian bat Tibetan Yak, Bengal Tiger, among others constitute its diverse wildlife species.

Bird Watching in Selwo

Other than mammals and reptiles, the Selwo Adventure Park houses over 1,000 specimen of close to 100 species of birds – giving you a wonderful opportunity of bird watching.

The park authority has been constantly trying to build specific habitat to accommodate numerous migratory as well as birds brought from different continents.

Just a wander through the walking trails inside the safe zone of the park will make you observe various bird species such as: Ostrich, Greylag Goose, Snowy Owl, Barnacla Canadiense, Griffon Vulture, Toco Toucan, Casuario, Mute Swan, Yellow-billed Stork, Squawk or Night Heron, and many more in their natural habitat.

Activities at Selwo

The park management offers its visitors an option to enjoy a number of activities, including: falconry, camel rides, a flying over the lake by the Ziwa zip-wire, archery displays, etc.

Its scenic surrounding and tranquil atmosphere will surely compel many to prolong their trip with an overnight stay. The Selwo Lodge, which consists of the Watu and Masai Villages, has a total of 23 cabins made of stone and wood, while all are equipped with amenities of a modern hotel.

Besides, young visitors (between 8 and 17 years of age) also have a chance to participate in several programmes of environmental activities at the Selwo Adventure Encampment. Natures Classroom is a programme of environmental activities that combines education and fun.

Monday to Friday 10.00 a.m. to 18.00 pm
Saturday and Sunday 10.00 a.m. to 19.00 pm
