An exhibition of art by Danish artist Karen Singh is taking place at The Sussex Bar in La Cortijera near La Cala de Mijas until May 16th.

About Karen Singh:

Karen has always had a great interest in art. As a young child, her father would show her around the galleries and museums of Copenhagen where she found her early inspiration.

By the time she was 10, a young and enthusiastic Karen Singh was usually to be found over the weekends at one of the many museums in the city, sketching the statues and some of the more interesting exhibits. On cold, wet days in the winter, she worked on her woodcarvings at home.

After she left school she went on to study art, firstly in her home town of Copenhagen and later in London at the School of Art in Regent Street where she met her late husband.

As Karen Singh has said, art is a tough career to get started, so she went on to develop a successful fashion business, initially in Copenhagen and then in Spain, where she now lives.

She always missed her art and gradually a fruitful hobby became what is now – a full time business exhibiting her impressionist and abstract pictures and collages.

The Sussex Bar, where Karen will be exhibiting, is somewhere for people to enjoy an evening out in great surroundings with a menu that is not only brimming full with tastes from around the world but is also very reasonable in price.
