Marbella Municipal Delegation of Culture and Education has announced to host an exhibition titled “I have a dream” in tribute to Martin Luther King, which opens next Thursday, June 24th at 20.30 in the Cultural Center San Pedro.
The exhibition, sponsored by Fundacion Jose Banus, will feature a total of 72 works of graphic art, sculptures, paintings and photographs of various national and international artists, who try to transfer that mythical speech of the legendary civil rights activist Martin Luther King “I have a dream” he gave in Washington in 1963.
Works of renowned artists like Feito, Tapies, Canogar or Hamilton are also brought together for the exhibition that will remain open until July 28th both at the Cultural Centre San Pedro and the Cortijo Miraflores Cultural Centre.
Inaugurated in New York, the exhibition has already been held subsequently in cities as Chicago, Memphis, Detroit, Montgomery or Atlanta, among others, before coming to Marbella.
The exhibition, as said by the members of the delegation, certainly has both artistic and political values which brings a message of inclusion to the city and that matches UNESCO’s declaration of 2010 as the International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures.
