Triangular basketball (May 1): On Saturday (May 1), the Department of Social Welfare is going to host a triangular basketball event from a selection of veterans Real Madrid, Unicaja and veterans Basketball Club Marbella, with the aim of raising funds to benefit the Asociacion Angel Riviere.
This charity basketball event falls under the Marbella Social Year 2010, which is engaged in promoting various welfare activities and issues. It welcomes all citizens to participate in such commendable event, purchase tickets for 10 euros, plus enjoy basketball.
Golf tournament (May 2): Coming Sunday, May 2, the Marbella Town Hall is going to hold a Golf Tournament for the 150th anniversary of San Pedro. It was earlier scheduled for April 18 but postponed due to weather.
The Championship will be held from 8.00 am in the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, in which as many as 150 participants have registered their names. Deputy Mayor of San Pedro, Miguel Troyano, will grace the award ceremony at 19.30 along with other municipal authorities.
Movie screening (May 5): Cine-Club Bunuel on Wednesday (May 5) and Thursday (May 6) organizes projection of the film “Un Profeta” (or A Prophet). The film directed by Jacques Audiard, is set largely in prison wall and the story revolves around Malik El Djebena (Tahar Rahim) who is sentenced for six years.
It talks about how Malik, who can neither read nor write, falls under the trap of mafia and even goes on to killing people in several murder mission. Niels Arestrup and Adel Bencherif are other two prominent starts in the film.

Tango night (May 7): The Marbella Delegation of Culture invites all to a show of Tango dance performed by Milton Homann and Romina Godoy. They are dancers and choreographers of Argentine Tango and Folklore, based in Seville since 1996. Both have an illustrious career and have performed throughout Europe.
The event is scheduled for Friday (May 7, 2010) at the Marbella City Theatre (Teatro Ciudad de Marbella). Tickets are available at the theatre box office with 18 euros.
