It seems Marbella has hooked with music and culture to compliment its fashionable image with several interesting musical activities. After the First European Jazz Festival, scheduled between 20th and 26th July, here is another one, planned especially for the folk music lovers.
The Country Music Festival will be held for the first time in Marbella from the 20th to 22nd August, 2010, in the Municipal Football Stadium. Organised by the event management company Events & Concerto S.L. in support from Marbella Town Hall, it is a part of the series of events designed to improve the image of the town.
On the scheduled list of programmes, John Parmenter and Jackson Mackay Band kick off the show with their characteristic style of country music. They have extensively performed together in numerous festivals in all over Europe and this, too, will guarantee you an exceptional musical experience.
Among other performers, The Hey Boyz brings a clever mixture of Western, Bluegrass and Rockabilly, and offers many original songs in various styles, while Mariotti Brothers offers some of the best guitar duets, guitar solos and violin-guitar.
In addition, choreographer and dancer Guylaine Bourdages adds more charm to the festival on the last day on 22nd August (Sunday) with Country Dancing. With such talented performers, the festival will surely catch the essence of country music culture and heritage.
Furthermore, to add a touch of authenticity there will be a ‘Country Village’ with vintage American cars, Wild West Stage Coaches and caravans, HARLEY DAVIDSON bikers, with majorettes and full band; hot-air balloons, lumberjack competitions, and more fun and games.
