International Festival in Mijas


The Mijas Foreigners Department invites you to enjoy an unforgettable experience where culture, race, folklore and gastronomy blend into a new concept in the pretty white-washed village of Mijas.

The International Festival will be held in various parts of Mijas Village that you will be able to visit by a very convenient mini train. This year, the festival runs from the 10th until the 12th of June.

Points of Interest at the International Festival in Mijas:

– 19 stands which will be offering typical food, drink and unique handcrafts.

– 2 giant Argentinean and Uruguayan BBQ´s.

– 3 stages with non-stop live performances offering the best in folklore and ethnical culture.

– Ethnical Street Parages with a Dragon from Korea, a Columbian Carnival, Parades from Bolivia, Lybia, Senegal, Mexico and a very special Flamenco Street Parade.

– Workshops designed for all the family including Typical Dances, Percussion, Handcrafts and lots more!

– New: This year the festival will be extended to Friday night with a dance festival in the Red Zone and Indian Groove in the Blue Zone!

On Saturday night you can swing to the beat of the SILVERBEATS, known to be the best Beatles tribute band in Spain!

The mini train will be stopping at red and blue zones and there will also be large free parking areas with a free shuttle bus.

The village of Mijas has been inhabited since ancient times and was devoted mainly to agriculture and fisheries in the 1950s. Today Mijas is a multicultural city and a major tourist centre in Andalucia.
