Murder Mystery Weekend! Who Killed the Vicar, written by Chris Martin, will be taking place at Los Arcos Restaurant on Saturday the 22nd of October.
It’s murder-mystery meets Father Ted as preparations for the annual Summer Fayre bring mayhem and murder to the picturesque village of Steeply Willows!!
Reverend Martin Peacock is usually a diligent Minister, yet his attention has been swayed by the possibility of becoming the next Bishop of the ‘Grimeford and Huntley’ diocese. All manner of dark intentions, jealousies and subterfuge begin to surface among the Parochial Parish Council members during their meeting at the vicarage. This results in Reverend Peacock being stabbed in his armchair after the house lights have been sabotaged… but who would do such a dastardly thing??
When Detective Inspector Charlton of Scotland Yard, and Lilly Heeks representing the influential Bishop Burton, begin their investigation they unearth a whole tangle of lies, corruption and deceit.
Malice hides behind the lace curtains of the picturesque village of Steeply Willows! But who would actually stoop so low as to kill the vicar? Could it be…???
Gladys Sunday, the exasperated housekeeper… Brenda Buffton, the robust Chairperson of the Parochial Parish Council… Lincoln Green, an ineffectual Scout Leader… Roy Chimes, the mysterious Church Organist… Penny Lane, a ‘rambler’ who ‘just happens’ to stop by… or… Father Tobias, the disgruntled curate?
The diocese of Grimeford and Huntley holds its breath and ‘prays’ to avoid a national scandal!
‘Who Killed the Vicar’ is a one hour comic play with 10 named characters- 3 male, 3 female & 4 of either sex (although with doubling-up it can be performed with just 8 actors.) It contains a rich source of humour and parodies the petty concerns and mock importance of committee members in all small communities. A divine murder-mystery!!
