Music at the Picasso presents Jazz artist, Marylin Crispell who will be performing at the Auditorium of the Picasso Museum in Malaga on November 12th at 9pm.
Inspired by Cecil Taylor and Thelonious Monk and other contemporary jazz players and composers, Marilyn Crispell’s style has been driven by an investigative and asymmetric force, with a love of Jazz using texture and space.
About Marylin Crispell:
As well as working as a soloist and main performer of her own bands, Crispell has performed and recorded extensively with well-known players on the American and International jazz scene.
In addition to playing, Marylin Crispell has taught improvisation workshops and given lectures and demonstrations at universities and art centres in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and has collaborated with videographers, filmmakers, dancers and poets worldwide.
In 1996, Marylin Crispell was given an Outstanding Alumni Award by the New England Conservatory, and in 2004, she was cited as being one of their 100 most outstanding alumni of the past 100 years.
