PAD Animal Charity Christmas Fayre

PAD Animal Charity are having a festive Christmas Fayre on Saturday 4th December from 10 o’clock at Passion Studios, Avda. Andalucia, No15, Nave 5 (near Fuengirola Iceland).

For a great cause, if you want to stock up on Christmas goodies, then please pop along to the PAD Christmas Fayre where you will find everything you need from Xmas cards, PAD 2011 Calendars, Pet Gifts, Mulled Wine (also known as glühwein) and Mince Pies, Books, Jewellery, CDs, Tea, Coffee, Cakes and much more.

There will also be a tombola and Christmas Raffle – tickets are on sale for 5€ each and prizes include a Wii-Nintendo which is to be drawn 30th January.

About PAD:

PAD was founded in 1996 with the objective of sheltering and then finding new homes for abandoned dogs and cats. In just 2 years sufficient funds had been raised to build a shelter on rented land. The shelter had space for only 12 dogs and 10 cats.

In the first two years nearly 500 animals were adopted but the shelter was now housing many more animals than it could hold, but luckily, in early 2001, a piece of land with a partly built house next to the shelter became available which PAD purchased with the help of a fairy godmother called Sally!

The next 12 months were spent clearing the land and finishing the building which used up their remaining funds. Then along came a second fairy godmother, Carmen de Vigny, who offered the funds to build a new cat shelter. Carmen officially opened the new shelter on the 1st September, 2002 and they are now housing over 200 feline guests!
