The 4th PAD Animal Charity Sponsored Walk will be held this year on Sunday 14th November. You can bring your own dog or walk a PAD dog from the shelter.
Following the registration at 10 am, the walk will begin at 11 am from the Sohail Castle Car Park, Fuengirola and will end at the Caribbean bar in Carvajal.
If you cannot make the 6km (approx.) long walk then you may join others at the Caribbean bar and stock up on your Christmas Cards, Calendars and much more.
About PAD
PAD is a registered charity and organises many fund-raising events throughout the year. It was founded in 1996 with the objective of sheltering and then finding new homes for abandoned dogs and cats and in two years sufficient funds had been raised to build a shelter on rented land.
Early in 2001, a piece of land with a partly built house next to the shelter became available and after the fortunate purchase with the help of very kind people, the next 12 months were spent clearing the land and finishing the building which sadly used up the remaining funds.
Luckily though, along came Carmen de Vigny, who offered the funds to PAD to build a new cat shelter and Carmen officially opened the new shelter on the 1st September, 2002. They are now housing over 200 feline guests!
In just two years nearly 500 animals were adopted but the shelter only had space for 12 dogs and 10 cats. While helping the animals, PAD believes that the animals often help people too – especially in times of loneliness and loss. Animals can be fostered or cared for permanently.
