Have you ever wondered why some colors look good on other people but not on you? Why some colour combinations just ‘work’ for you and others don’t?
In this 2-day Weekend Workshop, on the 24th and 25th of September from 10am to 6pm, you will learn how to recognize your unique natural coloring and discover the colors that enhance you.
Find out how to save money by only buying clothes that suit you and wearing everything in your wardrobe!
Color therapy is not new – it was used as part of healing in ancient Greece and Egypt. Over the years, more and more uses of color have been revealed, which have influenced public places like hospitals and shopping malls.
World authority on color, Theo Gimbel, came up with pink for prisons – an experiment that continues still; autistic children too are responding to color therapy. Hues that are used to calm are gentle and light, those which stimulate are strong and bright. Black has been found to be generally counter-productive to inspiration and liveliness; responsiveness and originality are more likely to be present in people not afflicted by this ongoing fashion clothing trait, though many designers clothe themselves in this way while trying to convince us that the new, which they eschew, is for us!
For Jean Gilhead (who was privileged to study under Theo Gimbel in the 80s), color is a way of transforming attitudes about self and surroundings. During the recession of the ‘80s, Jean worked as a consultant to major UK companies dealing frequently with people about to be made redundant. She found that when the correct color coding is accepted by the person, the inner changes can be dramatic. When we feel confident and good about the way we look and ourselves in general, we can start to realize our full potential.
When do people seek help? At times of change; often when they have lost some sense of identity. It can happen at any age, but the most commonly affected are the early 20s, 40s and 50s. It happens to men and women who have spent years being neutral, playing safe and not trusting their instincts and intuition – also the fashion victim ie. if it’s in fashion, they wear it. When their true and natural colors are revealed, new possibilities open up in their lives.
