Scruffs Nerja, the second of the Costa Animal Society’s annual fun family dog shows, is being held on Saturday the 17th of September and promises to be bigger and better than ever!
This year, and by kind permission of the town hall, it will be held on the site of Nerja’s weekly market, near the Almijara II urbanisation.
Scruffs Nerja:
As usual, the centre of attention will be the dogs themselves whose owners will be able to enter them in a number of different classes.
Every pedigree and pooch is welcome to participate in the Scruffs Nerja event, whether owned by a Spanish family or a foreign resident.
After the judging, you will be entertained by flamenco guitarist Mike Jingles, an Elvis Presley tribute act and deejay Kapt’n Party!
Lots of fun is on offer for children too including a bouncy castle and pony rides courtesy of Nerja Riding School.
Last year, Scruffs Nerja raised over 2,000€ for CAS funds. There were an incredible 78 entries in the 11 classes and it’s hoped this year’s event, the 12th which CAS has arranged in Nerja, will be even more popular and successful.
Based in Nerja, CAS was founded in 1986 as a registered charity for the sole purpose of helping abandoned and maltreated animals.
CAS has rehoused hundreds of animals in Nerja, Frigilana, Torrox, Cómpeta and district areas and is always interested in hearing from anyone who could adopt or foster a dog or cat.
