Luis Urculo will be exhibiting his works at the Poligono Gallery in Marbella entitled The Thrill is Gone. The exhibition will be running from 15th April to 15th June (viewings by appointment only).
The works of Luis Urculo show the exploration of the casual, accidental, essential and complex claims of time, noise and indoor spaces.
The Thrill is Gone exhibition is a slowdown of contemporary life, everyday life in slow motion, almost parodied, almost ridiculous and almost poetic.
Luis Urculo (Madrid 1978)
In 2006, Luis Urculo established his own studio after studying at the ETSAM Technical School of Senior Architecture in Madrid and then at the Illinois Institute of Technology and the Institute of Design in Chicago.
He was always interested in all that is peripheral to architecture, the processes, developments and approaches that can be manipulated, sampled and translated into other scales. These would then be adapted to the composition of the project, creating new scenes/experiences and expectations not contemplated previously.
He realizes projects of diverse format for important talents such as Philippe Starck, Davidelfin, Sybilla, Rolling Stone and others… where the graphical language, architecture and design are questioned as something unique and work as a whole.
Luis Urculo also works as a teacher with Jaime Hayon for Master of European Design Labs in the Instituo Europeo di Design in Madrid.
