Marbella opens registration for Youth Fine Arts Show

Under the ambitious cultural campaign ‘Marbella Crea 2010’, the Town Hall has opened registration for the Youth Fine Arts Show (Muestra Joven de Artes Plásticas). The director of Municipal Youth Delegation Diego Lopez announced last week that registration period will open until next April 26.

Lopez stressed that Marbella Crea 2010 is increasingly becoming a cultural reference in the locality with many innovative activities. He also emphasized that the upcoming exhibition will be one of the most interesting programme developed by the campaign, and it is different from other samples in the form of expression.

It is strictly instructed that works submitted must be original, innovative and experimental, with a theme. Once be chosen by the jury, works will be shown in a special exhibition at the Cultural Centre San Pedro Alcantara on May 5 to 8.

The proposed fine arts show covers four artistic disciplines: painting, printmaking, sculpture and graffiti. Prizes for top three are valued as 600 euros for the first seed, 300 euros for the second, 200 euros for the third, while the ‘Premio Doble Cero‘ or ‘Double Zero Award’, hosted by Corte Inglés, will be given away for work that best represents youth values.

Besides, there will be the ‘Premio Intégrate’, with 250 euros for the first classified and 150 euros for the second. According to foundation registration, those interested in participating may submit upto 3 works maximum per discipline with a complete application form with details of work, specifications, form and technique.

Individuals also need to submit a photocopy of identity card, certificate of registration or certificate of employment or studies. Registration process is conducted by both the cultural offices in Marbella and San Pedro Alcantara.

In addition, participants are also asked to submit a dossier explaining the title of the work, measurements, technical data, materials, support for display and any significant findings.
