Rock the Rock – Live music in Gibraltar featuring Simple Minds, Alan Parsons, Taxi and Noiz. Rock the Rock is taking place on the 6th of August from 8pm finishing at 3am the following day.

Simple Minds – Simple Minds are a Scottish rock band who achieved worldwide popularity from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. The band produced a handful of critically acclaimed albums in the early 1980s and best known for their hit single “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”, from the soundtrack from the movie The Breakfast Club, “Alive and Kicking” and  Belfast Child. The band has sold more than 40 million albums since 1979.

Alan Parsons – As soon as Alan Parsons landed a job at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London at the age of 19, it became clear that the world of sound recording was to become his career. He was involved with the production of several ground-breaking albums, including The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Let It Be, as well as Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon. Parsons’ own group, The Alan Parsons Project, as well as his subsequent solo recordings, have also been extremely successful.

Taxi – Taxi is a Gibraltarian pop rock band founded in 2005 after the break-up of Melon Diesel. Their songs maintain a certain similarity to those of Melon Diesel although slightly more upbeat with more pop influences. In 2010, Taxi was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in the Best Pop Album category by a duo or group with vocals by “Aquí y Ahora”.

Noiz – The Noiz are a rock alternative band
