Teatro Ciudad de Marbella to stage ‘Dos menos’

The municipal delegation of Culture and Higher Education reports that coming Saturday (April 10th), at 21.00, the Marbella Town Theatre (Teatro Ciudad de Marbella) will stage the play named ‘Dos menos’ with José Sacristán and Hector Alterio.

The play is based on the text of the French playwright Samuel Benchetrit and directed by Oscar Martinez. The plot is principally based on two elderly men and how they start taking their life in a different manner to enjoy the fullest in the last stage of their lives.

In fact, the story starts with the two fellows lying in a hospital room and in minutes and at the same time – be informed that they have very little time. Wondering about the rest of their lives, they not only escape from the hospital but began a wonderful journey, with the most cherished feelings of human beings: love, friendship, parenthood and the ephemeral nature of life.

The play shows all a relationship and life full of love, humour and emotion, the most private of men, the dreams, achievements and the desire to re-meet our affection for each day of our lives.

Talking about the actors, both Hector Alterio and José Sacristán are two of the prolific performers known widely in Spanish theatre and television circuit. The characters they portray here in this play are aptly fit into their images and lifetime body of works.

Born in Buenos Aires, Hector Alterio is an Argentine theatre, film and television actor, but equally known in Spain with a career spanning over three decades. In addition to movies, theatre has been a constant in his career since the early fifties. He climbed for the first time on stage at the mere age of twelve. His first theatrical performance in Spain was in Las cítaras colgadas de los árboles (1975).

José Sacristán is a famous Spanish film, theatre and television actor/director. He started his career as an actor in 1960 at the Teatro Infanta Isabel, de Madrid. In his long career he has alternated between the theatre and cinema. He has played all genres: comedy, drama and even operetta. This experience has allowed him to star in recent seasons, some of the great musical premiered in Madrid.
