To celebrate the Patron Saint of San Pedro, get ready for more sleepless nights, dancing and fireworks as The San Pedro Feria kicks off from October 14th and ends on the 19th!
If you have never experienced a feria (fair) before, then The San Pedro Feria is the best way to join in with the local culture and tag on to the parade with a chance to view the crowds of women and children dressed in their finest flamenco dresses whilst enjoying tapas and wine which are sold in the many stalls all over the town.
For the younger ones, there will be no shortage of fun and activities with a fairground lighting up the nights as well as games and attractions being held during the day. 6 days of non-stop partying at The San Pedro Feria!
The San Pedro Feria 2010 schedule as follows:
Thursday October 14:
13:00: The San Pedro Feria Opens with a fireworks display and bell ringing on the Plaza de la Iglesia.
13:00 – 19:00: Feria de Día will be held on Plaza del Mercado and the square next to Calle Doctor Estebán San Mateo.
18:00: Carnival of Gigantes and Cabezudos – Gigantic puppet like heads and figures parade through the streets.
21:00: Raising of the flags and the opening festival speeches at Plaza de la Iglesia followed by the Coronation of Ribbons – Reinas y Damas (Queens and Ladies) of San Pedro and a firework display at the fairground entrance.
22:00 Dancing at the Caseta Municipal (Municipal Tent) with orchestral music by Velada.
00:00 Concert at the Municipal Tent featuring Sandra Cabrera and Miguel Angel Palma from the television reality show Se Llama Copla. Free entry.
Friday October 15:
9:00: Exhibition of photos from the II Vega del Mar photo competition. Photos will be on display at the Centro Culutral at Plaza de la Libertad from October 15 – 19.
12:00: Fireworks display.
13:00: Inauguration of the Day Fair at the Plaza de la Iglesia.
13:00 – 20:00: Day Fair at Plaza de la Iglesia, Plaza del Mercado and the square next to calle Dr. Esteban San Mateo.
13:00 – 23:00 “My Home” tent opens.

Saturday October 16:
9:00: Exhibition “Memories of the San Pedro Feria” at the Centro Cultural until October 19 from 9:00 – 14:30
11:30: Prize giving for the Vega del Mar photo competition
12:00: Fireworks display
12:00: Competitions and games for the kids at Plaza de la Iglesia including apple games, a sack race, bicycle tape race and a merengue race.
13:00 – 20:00: Day Fair at Plaza de la Iglesia, Plaza del Mercado and the square next to calle Dr. Esteban San Mateo
13:00 – 23:00: “My Home” tent open
22:00: Party at the Municipal Tent with music from the Velada orchestra

9:00: Exhibition “San Pedro and its documents. A century in history 1860 – 1960” open until October 30th. Monday – Friday 9:00 – 14:30.

9:00: The San Pedro Feria final day starts with an Eucharist at the San Pedro parish church
11:00: Mass at San Pedro church in honour of San Pedro patron saint.

20:00: Dance show by local dance schools at the Municipal Tent
