Considering the socio-health aspects of increasing road accidents all across Spain, the Department of Highway Safety under Marbella Town Hall is organising road safety education campaign named the “Second Day of Road Safety Education in the area of Family-School”.
The overall objective of such initiative is to help reduce traffic accidents of minors, with the cooperation of the Federation of Associations of Mothers and Parents of Pupils (AMPAS), and municipality school faculties.
In revealing some stats, the municipality explained that in the road accident deaths between 0-14 years, 70% are passengers, 23% pedestrians, while 7% are two-wheeler drivers. A quick analysis on such data indicates that the responsibility for most of these fatal accidents falls directly on adults.
Hence the need comes for training and proper education on road safety. This provides a learning opportunity for both the parents and children, thereby contributing reducing traffic accidents of minors.
This program welcomes all: mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandparents and guardians, and any citizen interested in the training and information on road safety education to conduct and acquire skills for self-protection when driving on roads open to traffic.
